Spartan Fastener, a U.S.-based manufacturer, and distributor of high-performance fastening components, has acquired American Jebco, a long-established supplier of specialty fasteners and rivets. The acquisition, effective immediately, is intended to expand Spartan’s product portfolio, enhance its manufacturing capabilities, and strengthen its position in critical North American markets, the company announced Thursday.
Founded in 1903, American Jebco is a cold-heading manufacturer that produces precision fasteners for industries including automotive, construction hardware, electronics, fire safety, and consumer products. The company exited the high-volume rivet market in 2015 to focus on low- to mid-volume specialty parts and now emphasizes engineering-driven, custom components. Its operations are certified under the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) standard, which governs quality management systems in the automotive sector.
“This acquisition marks a major milestone in our growth strategy,” Tim Cash, chief executive officer of Spartan Fastener, said in a written statement. “American Jebco shares our commitment to excellence. Together, we are better positioned to serve our customers with industry-leading quality, shorter lead times, and expanded offerings.”
Founded in 1976 as Anderson Manufacturing, Spartan Fastener supplies cold-formed engineered fasteners to a wide range of sectors, including automotive, electronics, medical devices, and appliances. The company operates from a 110,000-square-foot facility in Trevor, Wisconsin, opened in 2019 to support both organic growth and acquisition-driven expansion. According to company statements, Spartan continues to pursue fastener companies generating more than $3 million in annual revenue as part of its long-term strategy.
Key members of American Jebco’s leadership team will remain with the combined organization. Eddie O’Connor, vice president of sales, and Pete O’Connor, materials manager, will continue in their roles to maintain operational continuity and customer relationships.
“We are combining our respective strengths with one overarching goal: to better serve our customers,” Eddie O’Connor said in the announcement. “With Spartan’s advanced capabilities and our continued commitment to service, we’re positioned for a strong future.”
Spartan said the integration process is underway with a focus on minimizing disruption for customers, suppliers, and employees. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
