SRS Launches Roofr Integration as Home Depot Pushes Further into Pro Contracting

SRS Distribution, a subsidiary of The Home Depot, has launched a new integration with Roofr, a roofing software provider, enabling contractors to access real-time material pricing and place orders directly from within the Roofr platform. The move underscores SRS’s broader strategy to digitize contractor workflows as The Home Depot intensifies its focus on the professional building materials sector, the company said.

The announcement comes alongside a major acquisition: The Home Depot on June 30 said that SRS has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire GMS Inc., a leading North American specialty building products distributor, in a cash deal valued at approximately $5.5 billion, including net debt. The deal, unanimously approved by both companies’ boards, will significantly expand Home Depot’s footprint in high-demand professional categories such as drywall, ceilings, and steel framing, the company said.

“This acquisition accelerates SRS’s strategy to become a leading multi-category building materials distributor,” said Dan Tinker, CEO of SRS Distribution. “With GMS, we’ll have a combined network of more than 1,200 locations and a delivery fleet of over 8,000 trucks, enabling tens of thousands of jobsite deliveries each day.”

SRS–Roofr Integration Targets Roofing Contractors

While the GMS deal marks a major expansion in scale, the Roofr integration reflects SRS’s ongoing investment in digital tools to enhance contractor operations. By linking Roofr with SRS’s Roof Hub system, roofing professionals can now generate quotes, check inventory, and place material orders without switching between systems.

“This integration is about delivering real-time efficiency to the jobsite,” said Kevin Carfa, vice president of digital operations at SRS. “We’re giving our customers the ability to manage every step—from estimate to order—in a single, connected platform.”

Key features of the Integration Include:

  • Live Pricing in Proposals: Roofr users can pull current pricing directly from their local SRS branch.
  • In-App Ordering: Contractors can submit orders from within Roofr, with job details and product selections pre-filled.
  • End-to-End Job Management: The integration supports a full project workflow, from measurements to materials procurement.

According to Roofr, contractors using integrated digital platforms close jobs 16.4% faster, with fewer errors and greater overall profitability.

“For roofers, speed and simplicity are everything,” said Richard Nelson, CEO of Roofr. “This partnership eliminates manual steps and gives contractors the tools they need to operate more efficiently.”

Home Depot Doubles Down on the Pro Segment

The GMS acquisition is the latest in Home Depot’s ongoing effort to grow its professional business, which the company has identified as a core strategic priority. GMS operates more than 300 distribution centers across the U.S. and Canada and reported $5.6 billion in revenue for fiscal 2024, according to its most recent SEC filings.

Under the terms of the deal, SRS will initiate a tender offer to purchase all outstanding shares of GMS at $110 per share in cash, reflecting an equity value of $4.3 billion. The transaction is expected to close by the end of Home Depot’s fiscal 2025, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.

Home Depot previously acquired SRS Distribution in 2024 for $18.25 billion, the largest acquisition in its history. SRS has since become the centerpiece of the retailer’s strategy to serve professionals with a mix of localized service and scaled digital infrastructure.
