Stellantis is putting more than $41 million into a new Mopar parts distribution Center in Forsyth, Georgia, the latest in a string of investments aimed at modernizing the automaker’s North American supply network.
The 422,000-square-foot warehouse, located about an hour south of Atlanta, will employ around 90 union workers and serve as a key logistics hub for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Alfa Romeo, and Fiat dealers across the Southeast.
Stellantis said the site will use an automated storage and retrieval system from AutoStore, a 16,000-square-foot grid where 66 robots handle bins of parts before moving them to workers for final processing. The technology is expected to cut delivery times, improve accuracy and reduce the physical footprint needed for storage.
“This facility represents a critical investment in Mopar’s long-term growth strategy,” Darren Bradshaw, senior vice president of Mopar North America, said in a statement.
The Forsyth project adds to half a billion dollars Stellantis has committed to its parts distribution network this year. In July, the company unveiled plans for a $388 million “Megahub” in Metro Detroit — its largest distribution project to date — and earlier opened a $64 million center in East Fishkill, New York.
The new Georgia facility will also incorporate energy-saving technologies and sustainable construction practices, part of Stellantis’ effort to lower the environmental impact of its logistics operations.
Mopar, Stellantis’ parts and service brand, has been supplying dealers and customers since 1937.
