TD SYNNEX has acquired Apptium, a software firm based in Reston, Virginia, as part of its broader push to enhance its cloud commerce capabilities and support “everything-as-a-service” offerings.
The deal strengthens TD SYNNEX’s StreamOne platform by bringing Apptium’s technology and team in-house. Previously a strategic partner, Apptium is now a wholly owned subsidiary and will continue to operate independently under its existing brand.
Apptium provides a cloud-native platform that supports e-commerce, billing, fulfillment, and subscription management. Its API-first architecture is designed to streamline multi-cloud operations and simplify adoption of subscription- and consumption-based service models.
“Bringing this technical expertise to TD SYNNEX allows us to execute on our strategy and continue investments in serving our customers as well as the incoming customers of Apptium,” said Patrick Zammit, chief executive officer of TD SYNNEX, in a statement.
Rick Kapani, who founded Apptium in 2014, will stay on as general manager and senior vice president, reporting to Sergio Farache, chief strategy and technology officer at TD SYNNEX.
Apptium supports enterprise clients in more than 20 countries and has teams across North America, Europe, and Asia. The company will retain its current operations and continue developing its platform independently to preserve agility and product innovation.
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
