Tencarva Acquires Detroit Pump & Mfg. Co.

Tencarva Machinery Company, Greensboro, N.C., value-added distributor and service provider of flow control and process equipment solutions to industrial and municipal end-markets, has acquired Detroit Pump & Mfg. Co. Tencarva is backed by Bessemer Investors, a New York-based investment firm.

Based in Warren, Mich., Detroit Pump is a distributor and service provider of process pumping and fluid handling equipment to manufacturers and municipalities. The company offers a wide variety of pumps including centrifugal, seal-less, self-priming and submersible pumps, among others. Detroit Pump’s management team will continue in their same roles under Tencarva. 

The acquisition allows Tencarva to enter a new market in the Midwest. 

Tencarva employs over 580 employees across 35 locations in the Southeast and Midwest. Tencarva also goes to market under the following brands: Southern Sales, Saladin Pump & Equipment, Hudson Pump & Equipment, ESSCO Service & Sales, Fischer Process, Uniguard Machine Guards and Tri-State Coating & Machine.
