TopBuild Corp. has acquired Applied Coatings and Upstate Spray Foam, two Winfield, New York–based contractors that together generate about $20 million in annual revenue from spray foam insulation and fireproofing work across New York, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts.
The acquisitions expand TopBuild’s installation capacity in the Northeast and add specialized crews focused on spray polyurethane foam and fire-resistive coatings, services tied closely to energy-efficiency standards, building code compliance and labor-intensive project work in both residential and commercial construction.
Robert Buck, TopBuild’s president and CEO, said the companies bring established customer relationships and strengthen the company’s regional presence.
Billy Gibson, co-owner of Applied Coatings and Upstate Spray Foam, said the businesses were built on craftsmanship and long-standing ties with customers and that joining TopBuild will support continued growth in Upstate New York and surrounding markets.
TopBuild, headquartered in Daytona Beach, Florida, operates two primary segments: an installation services business with more than 200 branches nationwide and a specialty distribution network with more than 250 branches across the United States and Canada. The company installs insulation and commercial roofing and distributes insulation, accessories, and related building products to residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
Spray foam insulation and fireproofing typically require trained labor, specialized rigs, and adherence to evolving energy and safety codes. For TopBuild, which has grown through a steady pace of tuck-in acquisitions, the deals add skilled labor capacity and geographic density in markets where workforce availability and code-driven retrofit activity continue to influence demand.
