Dexter, a U.S.-based manufacturer and distributor of trailer axles, brakes, suspension systems, and related chassis components, has named Matt Powell as its new president. The move follows the planned departure of longtime executive Adam Dexter, who will remain with the company as Executive Advisor through 2026.
Headquartered in Elkhart, Indiana, Dexter is a core subsidiary of DexKo Global Inc., the world’s largest supplier of chassis technology, axle systems, and towable equipment parts. As a distributor, Dexter operates an extensive North American logistics and warehouse network that supplies OEMs, dealers, and service providers with trailer parts and assemblies. Its distribution footprint includes dozens of facilities that support same- and next-day delivery of axles, brake assemblies, hubs, drums, fenders, jacks, and other components used in recreational, utility, marine, agricultural, and industrial trailers.

Matt Powell joins Dexter from Modine Manufacturing Company, where he served as Group Vice President. He brings experience in industrial manufacturing, operations, and supply chain management.
DexKo Global, Dexter’s parent company, was formed in 2015 from the merger of Dexter and AL-KO Vehicle Technology. Headquarters in Novi, Michigan, DexKo employs approximately 7,000 people and operates 50 production facilities and 70 distribution centers worldwide.
Adam Dexter has led the company for over 30 years, overseeing its expansion into a full-service parts and distribution platform for trailer and towable equipment manufacturers.
“Dexter has always been about people—our team, our customers, and our partners,” Dexter said in a statement. “I’m confident Matt will carry that forward.”
