Turner Supply has acquired Progressive Supply, a Woodstock, Georgia–based maintenance, repair and operations distributor, establishing its first branch location in the Atlanta metropolitan market and expanding its presence in North Georgia.
The transaction closed Jan. 31, according to the company.
Progressive Supply will operate as Turner Supply and become the company’s ninth stocking location. Turner Supply, founded in 1905 and headquartered in Mobile, Alabama, said it has long served customers in North Georgia but did not previously operate a branch in the Atlanta area.
Progressive Supply serves customers in construction, manufacturing, welding, metal fabrication and utilities — markets that align with Turner Supply’s existing customer base.
“We are excited to welcome Rick Klein and his team at Progressive Supply to the Turner Supply family,” Chip Schramm, chief executive officer and president of Turner Supply, said in a statement. “Their core values and culture of high-touch customer service are a strong match for Turner’s.”
Rick Klein, owner of Progressive Supply, said maintaining continuity for customers and employees was central to the decision.
“Our priority was ensuring customers could continue working with the same team they’ve always trusted,” Klein said in a statement. “Their commitment to continuity and to preserving what’s made us successful has been clear from day one.”
Turner Supply said customers will continue working with the same employees while gaining access to the company’s broader product assortment, technology platforms and supply chain capabilities.
Turner Supply describes itself as one of North America’s largest independently owned industrial distributors of maintenance, repair and operations and production supplies. The company is a member of Affiliated Distributors, Industrial Supply Association and supplyFORCE.
