ULINE is constructing a new 1.25 million-square-foot distribution center in Plainfield, Connecticut, according to local officials.
Construction began in May on the site at 91–105 Plainfield Pike Road, with completion expected in May 2026. Once operational, the facility is projected to employ about 200 people initially and up to 350 as it ramps up.
“This is one of only 10 warehouses of this type that the company has in the United States,” Plainfield First Selectman Kevin Cunningham said in an interview with Distribution Strategy Group, underscoring the strategic importance of the site to ULINE’s national network. The Plainfield facility is expected to serve the entire New England region.
Cunningham said the town anticipates the site will generate more than $1.5 million in local tax revenue annually once the building is fully assessed and operational. No state or local tax incentives were provided for the project, he added.
ULINE, based in Wisconsin, operates a limited number of large-scale fulfillment centers across the U.S. The Plainfield site marks a significant expansion of the company’s East Coast logistics footprint.
The facility is expected to contribute to the region’s growing logistics economy, though Plainfield itself has not traditionally been considered a major distribution hub. With ULINE’s investment, local leaders say that it may begin to change.
