Uline Inc. has unveiled plans to build a new 1.2-million-square-foot distribution center in Kenosha County, Wisconsin, as part of its ongoing expansion in the Midwest. The proposed $120 million facility will be situated on an 80-acre site at the southwest corner of 38th Street and 128th Avenue, directly adjacent to the company’s existing 1.44-million-square-foot WQ Distribution Center, which opened in late 2024.
The project is currently under municipal review. Uline has submitted rezoning and conditional use permit applications to the City of Kenosha, which were discussed during an April 24 meeting of the Kenosha Plan Commission. If approved, the new distribution center would further expand Uline’s footprint in the region, where the company already operates more than a dozen distribution and support facilities.
According to design documents submitted to the city, the new facility will adhere to Uline’s signature architectural style, featuring concrete precast construction with glass elements, an extensive number of trailer docks, on-site employee parking, and an advanced stormwater management system.
This proposed building is a key part of Uline’s larger logistics network strategy, which focuses on establishing centralized, high-throughput distribution hubs near major Midwest freight corridors. The Kenosha site offers immediate access to I-94 and is ideally located near a skilled workforce in southeastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.
Currently, Uline employs over 3,800 people in the Kenosha area and maintains its corporate headquarters in nearby Pleasant Prairie. In a statement, Gil De Las Alas, Uline’s chief human resources officer, said, “As we celebrate 45 years in business and our continued growth — including the opening of Wisconsin’s largest warehouse — we’re excited to welcome new talent to our team and support their success with us.”
Founded in 1980, Uline has evolved into a major player in North American B2B distribution. The company markets more than 40,000 SKUs across industrial, packaging, shipping, janitorial, and safety products, with fulfillment centers in Wisconsin, Illinois, Texas, Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Canada. The privately held business is led by co-founders Liz and Dick Uihlein.
Uline’s Kenosha County operations are a critical part of its national supply chain, supporting both direct fulfillment and regional consolidation efforts. The addition of this new distribution center will enhance the company’s throughput capacity and align with its strategy of co-locating facilities to streamline operations.
While a construction timeline has not yet been announced, if approved, the new facility will continue Uline’s ongoing investment in infrastructure, designed to boost efficiency, reliability, and customer responsiveness across its distribution network.
