Van Meter Inc., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Midwestern distributor of electrical, automation and other industrial products, is adding a 60,000–square-foot building to its central distribution center in Cedar Rapids.

Now with a total of 350,000 square feet of warehouse space at its Iowa headquarters, the company aims to meet rising customer demand for specialized inventory and value-added services, such as order staging, material kitting, customized wire solutions and enclosure modification.
“A tight labor market has customers looking to us for much more than products,” said Nate Jensema, CEO. “More than parts, we want to be a distribution partner that can adapt and grow with them.”
Van Meter operates 25 locations across seven Midwestern states. The company is fully owned by its 850+ employees.
