White Cap Opens First Enterprise Distribution Center in Southern California

White Cap, a distributor of specialty construction supplies and safety products, has opened its first enterprise distribution center (EDC) in Perris, California, in a move aimed at strengthening its national supply chain and improving service to contractors across the region.

The 332,335-square-foot facility will serve as a hub for White Cap’s West Coast operations, allowing the company to expand delivery capacity, position more inventory closer to job sites, and shorten turnaround times on orders. Executives said investment is part of a broader strategy to increase reliability and speed in a sector where supply chain efficiency has become a competitive differentiator.

“This EDC investment will allow us to improve the service we provide to our customers and simplify our operations for the benefit of our associates and supplier partners,” said Alan Sollenberger, White Cap’s chief executive officer. “By placing more of our broad product assortment closer to our customers’ job sites and innovating how we move product, we’re elevating our reliability for pro contractors who count on White Cap every day.”

The company marked the opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce, tours of the facility, and remarks from company leaders and local officials. As part of the event, White Cap presented a $10,000 donation to the CAL FIRE Benevolent Foundation, which provides support for firefighters and their families.

Tracy Rosser, the company’s chief supply chain officer, said the center was designed with contractors’ needs in mind, emphasizing faster order fulfillment and more efficient routing for last-mile delivery. “Our EDC will ensure our customers get what they need, when and where they need it,” he said.

The facility currently employs 42 people, with plans to increase the workforce to more than 60 as operations expand. White Cap said the site will play a significant role in its nationwide supply chain network, which supports approximately 200,000 customers in nonresidential, infrastructure, and residential construction markets.

Headquarters in Atlanta, White Cap operates at about 500 branches across North America and employs more than 10,500 people.
