Winsupply Inc., one of the nation’s largest distributors of construction and industrial supplies, has acquired Industrial Sales Co., a Kansas-based wholesale distributor specializing in landscape and utility infrastructure products. The move reinforces Winsupply’s strategy of expanding its footprint in fast-growing markets across the Midwest.
Headquarters in Olathe, Kansas, Industrial Sales Co. serves contractors, municipalities, and utilities with a broad product portfolio including PVC pipe and fittings, stormwater and sanitary sewer systems, erosion control, and waterworks infrastructure components. The company also operates a location in Omaha, Nebraska, and has earned a reputation as a key supplier for civil construction and public works projects throughout the region.
“This acquisition is a strategic fit that brings strong local expertise, a complementary customer base, and deep knowledge of utility infrastructure,” said John McKenzie, President of Winsupply. “It reflects our commitment to invest in companies that share our values of entrepreneurship and customer focus.”
Founded in 1956, Winsupply operates a unique business model that combines centralized purchasing power and logistics with a decentralized ownership structure. The company supports more than 660 local businesses across 45 states in sectors including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, industrial, waterworks, and fire protection. By acquiring Industrial Sales Co., Winsupply deepens its offering in the civil construction segment, adding to its growing portfolio of specialty distributors.
The acquisition of Industrial Sales Co. is Winsupply’s first announced deal of 2025 and follows a string of recent purchases aimed at expanding its reach in high-growth sectors and regions. Recent acquisitions have included Epic Supply, a Texas-based commercial plumbing distributor, and Forge PolyFab, a supplier of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe systems used in water, gas, and industrial applications.
“We’re excited to become part of the Winsupply family,” said Industrial Sales Co. President Steve Rogers. “Their decentralized model empowers local leadership, which aligns with how we’ve always run our business. This partnership gives us access to greater resources while preserving the local relationships that have built our success.”
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Winsupply stated that the current leadership of Industrial Sales Co. will remain in place, ensuring continuity for customers and suppliers.
The acquisition comes as Winsupply continues to invest in digital infrastructure, e-commerce tools, and supply chain enhancements to better serve contractors, engineers, and municipal buyers. By adding Industrial Sales Co. to its portfolio, Winsupply not only strengthens its Midwest operations but also boosts its capabilities in waterworks and underground utility markets — key areas of infrastructure investment across the U.S.
Analysts note that this acquisition reflects the broader trend of consolidation among regional distributors as national players seek scale, local expertise, and diversification.
“Winsupply is executing a disciplined acquisition strategy focused on capability expansion,” said David Gordon, principal of Channel Marketing Group. “This deal enhances their position in the water infrastructure space at a time when federal and municipal funding is accelerating.”
Winsupply is privately held and reported more than $6 billion in revenue in 2024.
