According to the U.S. Census Bureau, U.S. wholesale trade revenues, except manufacturers’ sales branches and offices, were $652.8 billion in April 2023, up 0.2% from the revised March level and down 3.4% from the prior-year period.

Total inventories of merchant wholesalers, except manufacturers’ sales branches and offices, were $915.7 billion at the end of April, down 0.1% from the revised March level. Total inventories were up 6.3% from the revised April 2023 level.
The April inventories/sales ratio was 1.40. The April 2022 ratio was 1.27.
