ARG Industrial Brings Mobile Efficiency to Distributors with New App

ARG Industrial, a distributor of hoses, fittings, and related industrial products, has introduced a mobile app aimed at eliminating long-standing inefficiencies in distributor operations. By consolidating tasks such as inventory management, customer-specific pricing, order tracking, and supplier coordination into a single digital platform, the company is seeking to replace the fragmented and manual processes that have defined the industry for decades.

“Our customers and suppliers often operate with incomplete information,” said Mike Mortensen, CEO of ARG Industrial. “They need to know what stock is available, the correct pricing, and delivery timelines. Without a centralized platform, these tasks can be time-consuming and prone to mistakes.”

ARG Industrial serves industries with little margin for error—oil and gas, construction, marine, mining, and agriculture. These sectors depend on timely access to products and reliable supply chain coordination. Yet, like many distributors, ARG has historically relied on phone calls, emails, spreadsheets, and manual tracking to keep operations moving. The result has often been wasted time, miscommunication, and pricing errors.

Mortensen said the company’s app was designed to reflect the reality of how distributors and their customers already work, not to force new methods. “We wanted the app to replicate the actual steps people take when placing orders or checking stock, but in a single, digital interface,” he explained. “The goal is not to add features for the sake of technology—it is to make processes simpler and more accurate.”

The homepage displays nine buttons that cover essential functions, offering immediate access to inventory, pricing, order history, and supply chain coordination tools.

ARG Industrial worked with several partners to build the platform. Hose manufacturer Danfoss provided product data to ensure accurate inventory management. Spiral Scout handled the software design and development, creating an interface intended to be simple enough for contractors, suppliers, and employees alike. Digital strategy firm Domani Strategies worked alongside ARG to align the app with broader operational goals.

“We focused on making the app practical and dependable,” said AJ Brenner, ARG Industrial’s director of ecommerce and digital. “Users need accurate stock information, correct pricing, and the ability to place and track orders without encountering errors. Everything in the app was designed to support day-to-day operations.”

The mobile app includes a suite of features built to address distributor-specific challenges:

  • Live inventory visibility: Users can see real-time stock levels across ARG Industrial locations, reducing uncertainty and improving order planning.
  • Customer-specific pricing: The platform applies negotiated pricing automatically, removing the need for manual verification.
  • Smart scan technology: Barcode and QR code scanning streamline order entry and reduce errors.
  • Order tracking: Customers and suppliers can follow status updates, delivery timelines, and stock replenishment.
  • Vendor- and contractor-managed inventory support: Both suppliers and contractors can coordinate inventory in real time, improving supply chain efficiency.

These features are designed not only to save time but also to reduce common pain points in distributor workflows—miscommunications, incorrect pricing, and inefficient order management.

Early users have reported measurable benefits. “The initial feedback indicates that people can complete tasks more quickly and with fewer errors,” Mortensen noted. “They can access stock information, place orders, and confirm pricing from a single platform. It reduces the back-and-forth communication that used to slow operations.”

Brenner emphasized that the app was built to fit into existing workflows. “Users appreciate that the app reflects the way they work,” he said. “It doesn’t require learning a new process; it adapts to existing workflows and consolidates multiple steps into one.”

ARG Industrial has rolled out onboarding materials, training resources, and technical support to ensure adoption. Mortensen underscored the importance of aiding during implementation: “A tool is only useful if people can use it effectively. We’ve made sure that guidance and assistance are available to reduce any disruption during the transition.”

ARG’s mobile platform reflects a larger shift in distribution toward digital-first operations. While ecommerce and mobile apps are now commonplace in consumer markets, industrial suppliers face a more complex challenge: managing data and workflows across multiple stakeholders, from internal teams to contractors and third-party suppliers.

By centralizing pricing, inventory, and order management into a single app, distributors can cut down on manual work while giving customers real-time visibility, something that can make the difference in industries where project schedules and equipment uptime depend on fast, reliable parts delivery.

Mortensen and his team view the mobile app not as a one-time project but as a foundation for ongoing digital transformation. “We anticipate adding functionality over time based on user feedback and operational needs,” Mortensen said. “The app is designed to scale with our business, whether that means supporting new locations, expanding product lines, or enhancing data reporting.”

Brenner echoed that vision: “We’re also looking at how the app can integrate with other digital systems in the future. The goal is to maintain accuracy, improve workflows, and provide users with the information they need when they need it.”

The launch signals a turning point for ARG Industrial and for distributors more broadly. By consolidating core processes into a single mobile app, ARG is reducing complexity for customers, employees, and suppliers, while setting itself apart in an industry still catching up to digital adoption.

“This app is about making work simpler and more dependable,” Mortensen said. “It supports our customers, employees, and suppliers by providing a single reference point for critical information. It is a practical step toward improving operational efficiency and supply chain coordination.”

With its rollout complete and feedback already driving refinements, ARG Industrial is positioning itself as a case study in how distributors can modernize their operations—without losing sight of the everyday tasks that keep business moving.
