Beijer Ref AB, one of the world’s largest refrigeration and climate-control wholesalers, has acquired Key Refrigeration Supply and Dennis Supply Company, adding new territory and roughly SEK 800 million ($US 84.5 million) in combined annual turnover. The Sweden-based group said both deals strengthen its North American HVAC/R distribution platform and extend its reach across the Midwest.
Key Refrigeration Supply, founded in 1999 and headquartered in North Kansas City, Missouri, operates six branches in Kansas and Missouri. The company distributes heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and supplies to regional contractors and commercial customers. Beijer Ref said the acquisition will deepen its presence in markets where its Heritage Distribution Holdings platform already operates.
Dennis Supply Company, established in 1935 and based in Sioux City, Iowa, runs 13 branches across Iowa, South Dakota, Nebraska and Wyoming. Its footprint gives Beijer Ref access to adjacent states and new customer relationships across the Upper Midwest.
Both distributors will continue operating under their existing brands with their current management teams in place. Beijer Ref said the move preserves the companies’ long-standing customer relationships and supports ongoing growth while integrating them into the company’s broader global network.
“These acquisitions support and strengthen our regional presence by building on the strong foundation we have already established,” Beijer Ref CEO Christopher Norbye said in the company’s announcement. “We look forward to continuing these companies’ growth journeys in partnership with their existing management teams.”
Beijer Ref said the transactions are expected to have a minor positive impact on the group’s overall results. The deals continue the company’s strategy of expanding its HVAC/R distribution capabilities in the United States, one of its fastest-growing regions.
